Mrs. Reker's 1st grade class did a science experiment in which we modified a beach umbrella so it was able to stand up to stronger wind. We learned about how trees are able to stand even in windy conditions.

Luverne Elementary is proud to implement Project 11, a social-emotional learning (SEL) program that builds mental health awareness and equips students with practical tools for wellness. Through 15 lessons each year, students learn skills and strategies to support positive mental health and develop healthy coping habits. We are grateful to the True North Youth Foundation and the MAX Foundation for making this program possible for our students.

Kindergarten students took part in Kindergarten Boot Camp. Last week, Mrs. Atkinson-Smeins, School Counselor, taught lessons on listening and respect, and read The Lucky Button by Julia Cook --a story about easing first-day jitters. Each child received a button necklace.
